Interview with Andrés Reséndez, Historian and Author of The Other Slavery, The Uncovered Story of Indian Enslavement in America

An hour-long conversation with historian and author Andrés Reséndez. In The Other Slavery, The Uncovered Story of Indian Enslavement in America,  Andrés Reséndez tells the little-known story of the enslavement of countless native people in the Americas, including the US. This slavery lasted into the 20th Century, and was particularly brutal in California, where whole peoples were enslaved. This forced labor of native people helped provide the foundation for the US economy.

Andrés Reséndez is a historian and author specializing in colonial Latin America, borderlands, and the Iberian world. He is a Professor of History at the University of California, Davis
